MONTHLY PICKS: APRIL

How is April already coming to an end? It feels like it was just last week we were clinking champagne glasses and toasting to a new year, and here we are, entering month five already! I can't complain though. Winter is behind us and we're about to enjoy the next few months of warm, sunny weather.

With the change in seasons comes a change in routine: beauty and fashion choices included. Warmer weather means I tend to reach for my lighter items, whether that be fabrics or face creams. Here's a quick round-up of what I've been loving on this month as we enter a new season.

Airy fabrics, shades of pink + bell sleeves
I'm trying to build my own take on a capsule wardrobe, picking basic pieces that I can mix and match but sometimes I just can't help but succumb to a trend. The bell sleeves is one that I cannot pass up. I find the bell sleeve so elegant and feminine--something I'm really striving towards with my personal style. I am a jeans and a t-shirt girl at heart (today my t-shirt reads holy guacamole! with an embroidered avocado, if that gives you any indication) but I also appreciate the opportunity to dress a little more feminine. Light, airy fabrics and shades of pink are taking over my spring wardrobe! I work in an office in a cubicle with a business casual dress code, so it's required that I get dressed for work every day (no avocado t-shirts permitted *sad face*) but I have always fallen back on trusty black, navy and grey. This spring I'm trying something new with shades of pink. Special shout out goes to these culottes (in pink), this jumpsuit (that also looks so cute with a white t-shirt underneath!), this pleated skirt from the Who What Wear line at Target (picked it up when we were in FL in January!) and a few lucky finds (a long grey knit tank and an eyelet bell sleeve blouse) at Winners and Marshalls.

Basically everything in this photo.
Seriously though, I love this Coach Rogue 25 bag. It was gifted to me by Coach, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't been my go-to bag for the last few weeks. The chalk colour with the brass hardware is a different choice for me. I gravitate towards black handbags because it's playing it safe (and they match with everything!) but for the warmer months this bag is actually perfect. It's a great size to hold just the essentials--wallet, keys, sunglasses, glasses, and my phone! In addition to the bag, I'm also loving my Kate Spade glasses and my grey block heels from Call It Spring. The ribbon is removable, but for a day when I'm feeling extra pretty it's the perfect way to tie an outfit together (no pun intended!)

Island Joy Scrub in Bajan Lime.
There are no words for what this Bajan Lime sugar scrub smells like. Well, I guess lime would be a defining note. I actually considered eating it--yes, it smells that incredible. Now that I'll be showing off my legs with the warmer weather (see ya in the fall, long pants!) it's important that I rid them of the dry winter skin. Look at that sugar! This scrub is the real deal. It's got a list of ingredients that you can decipher and it's made in Canada! Smells like the beach, makes your skin feel soft and smooth, and made in right at here at home. A win-win-win if you ask me!

Beuti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir.
This is a 100% natural face oil. Although it is made in the UK, it contains 14 plant oils that support your skin barrier function, which plays a key role in fighting inflammation. It also brightens your complexion! After a long, rough winter, everyone's skin could use a big drink and a refresh. I'm always hesitant to use an oil as I already have a relatively oily T-zone, but I use this at night and wake up in the morning to refreshed skin! It's now available in Canada here.

What are you loving at the moment? Any favourites that you can't live without as we embrace the spring and summer months? I'd love to hear what you're loving! Connect with me here or over on Instagram!

Note: Some of these products were gifted to me to try. All opinions are my own.
