Layered Taco Dip

I'll be the first to admit, mine hardly has any layers to it. this dip is so simple to make and it's always a crowd pleaser! I'm even eating some for lunch while I'm typing this up. anyway, essentially you just need the base, salsa and cheese and you can add whichever other fixings you'd like to make this much like a taco!

a lot of the recipes I've seen add guacamole (gag me), refried beans (one time my cousin and I tried to make our own refried beans...a can of heinz baked beans and a frying pan later, it wasn't a complete disaster) and even ground beef. I like to keep it simple though. the secret ingredient is the taco seasoning, though!

you'll need a 16 oz. tub of sour cream, an 8 oz. brick of cream cheese and the taco seasoning. you blend it together in a bowl for the base! whip it up and spread it in a dish of your choice.

okay so I really like olives. one time my roommate walked into the living room, looked at me and said, "are you actually forking olives out of the jar for dinner?" sure was. it was a delicious dinner at that. I like to slice them up and throw them on top of the salsa! tomatoes are also a good addition to this dish, alongside lettuce and any other taco type fixin' you can think of!

layer it all together and there you have it. easy, peasy. even with the photographs it took me about 10 minutes to whip this together. needless to say, andrew and I wasted no time digging into it. it got his seal of approval, too!

until next time, happy making!
